Varsity Brands’ mystery acquisition was actually a two-fer.

The KKR-owned youth sports platform has reportedly bought two retailers — Lax.com and Sports Endeavors, a holding company that includes Soccer.com in its portfolio.

Recall: A Moody’s note in January said Varsity Brands was freeing up significant capital to purchase an unspecified company "that sells sports apparel and equipment in the club/select channel."

The additions — reported by Sportico — expand Varsity Brands’ apparel and equipment business. It already owns BSN Sports. And BSN aunched Club Direct, which works exclusively with club teams and offers quick turnarounds on custom uniforms, last November.

The Sports Endeavors deal was reportedly in the $300M to $400M range; the Lax.com deal’s price has not been reported. Sports Endeavors also owns World Soccer Shop and 431 Sports.
