Unrivaled Sports has joined forces with a future Hall of Famer to expand its flag football operation.
Football N’ America — co-founded by former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees — has joined the Unrivaled Flag vertical. The collaboration is said to be the start of a “long-term partnership” between the 13-time Pro Bowler and the youth sports behemoth as Unrivaled continues to invest in flag football’s astronomical growth.
Stats from July:
81K youth athletes in Unrivaled flag programming -- a 25% YoY increase
77% YoY increase in Unrivaled flag events
Over 200 Unrivaled-affiliated leagues in 21 states
Programming in 33 states overall
Brees will focus on flag football, but also "bring [his] leadership and vision to other sports across the Unrivaled portfolio."
FNA offers coed K-10 competitions; it currently has 24 leagues in eight states. The bulk of the leagues are in Louisiana, California and Texas with a handful elsewhere in the Midwest and South.
Louisiana appears to be a new market for Unrivaled Flag.
The partnership will focus on growing participation and expanding leagues nationwide; FNA leagues will now be connected to Unrivaled’s marquee flag football events — High School Girls Nationals, the Gold Jacket Classic and the Youth Flag World Championships.
Unrivaled now owns four distinct flag platforms — FNA joins All-American Flag, New England Flag Football League and Under the Lights Flag Football.
